What makes a TENT FLEX site so special?

Well we believe there is nothing out there quite like it. Unlike most template sites it’s a lot more FLEXible in terms of being able to be branded and set up for a clients business. What’s more, it’s very easy to use the content management system to keep the site up to date.

Most responsive sites available as templates simply look like a standard template, meaning your website could end up looking very similar to a lot of other websites. TENT FLEX is different, it’s been designed from the ground up by a designer with over 20 years experience in designing easy to use websites and built by a web company that specialise in developing easy to use content managed WordPress sites.

TENT FLEX is constantly evolving to make it easier to use from the front end navigation to back end updating. It’s built with WordPress so there are no monthly content management charges and if you want to move away from us you can take your TENT FLEX site with you. That’s a different story from some web companies that tie clients in with a content management system that only they can provide.

TENT FLEX features

So what makes the TENT FLEX website perfect for your business? Here are some of the key features:

Feature 1

TENT FLEX is a responsive site – it looks great on everything from a super large PC monitor to a tablet or smartphone and everything inbetween. It responds to fill the web browser’s window – try dragging the window of this site larger and smaller if you are looking on a PC and see how the TENT FLEX site responds beautifully. Text resizes automatically, picture boxes reflow and the site looks as good on small screens as it does on large ones. This is NOT the case with most responsive websites. Every size of screen has been designed properly to not only look good but also to be functional and easy to use – crucial when aiming to get your website visitors to stay longer and find out more.

If you have an older website you may notice it’s not as wide as current sites. If you choose a TENT FLEX site it will grow to fill a wider browser window and will never look too small and old. This effectively gives the TENT FLEX site a much longer lifespan and better value for money as whatever happens with screen sizes and internet use in the future, TENT FLEX will respond.

You can easily and quickly update the text and pictures on the site; add new pages for new services or products; change phone numbers and contact details easily; add new cases studies and articles – generally keeping the site up to date is very simple. All of this is crucial for a business owner, both from ease and quickness and also financially – no need to return to the developers to make future changes.

Feature 3

It’s very easy to navigate a TENT FLEX site – from the home page as you roll over the different pages in the menu there is a drop down so you can quickly see every page on the site and your clients will find what they are looking for with ease. Once you are on a page it remains highlighted so you can see where in the site you are and if any sub pages are available to look at then these are also shown. No one will ever be able to loose themselves on a TENT FLEX site!

Feature 4

The call to action panels (CTA) feature throughout the site and they help you to highlight a service or feature that you’d like your TENT FLEX site’s visitors not to miss. It’s another way to help people to navigate around your site and to draw their attention to what you want to tell them. For instance on a florists site a page may be talking about bridal bouquets but the CTA could highlight button holes. The CTA’s are fully editable and multiple ones can be created with your exact wording and specified link to any part of your site as ever, maximum FLEXibility!

Feature 5

Look at the different pages in this demo site and you’ll see the site works well with a lot of pictures, only a few pictures or even no pictures at all. If no pictures are used the testimonial text repositions and grows in size to become a graphical element on the page.

Feature 6

Every page of the TENT FLEX site has the option to use a testimonial. We feel strongly that people like the reassurance of other people’s testimony to how good a product or service it but if you don’t agree these can be left off. Or as on the Tynedale Beer Festival TENT FLEX site they were used as ways to highlight key bits of information – you could use them in this way too. Whatever works best for your business.

Feature 7

The latest news or blog article is pushed to home page helping to keep it looking fresh and up to date. If you don’t want a blog it can be used for articles, recipes, special offers and more – whatever would be appropriate for your business. If you do not want any form of articles at all then the ‘latest article’ panel can be disabled in the back end. And of course if you change your mind this can be turned back on at a later date. because the site is FLEXible like that!

Feature 8

The map on the contact page can be made visible or hidden. Showing clients and customers where you are is crucial for some, irrelevant for others. If you use the map function, you can add one pin to show your location or multiple pins to show multiple locations or the extremities of the area that you cover. The map pins can even have pictures attached of your location or can be used to show directions of a tricky place to find.

Feature 9

If you use social media, the TENT FLEX site can show the icons for Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+ and Instagram. Once the account details are entered in the back end they will automatically appear on the contact page but also on the contact panel on every page. If you have an email newsletter and enter the URL for the sign up to it in the back end then that also appears on every page. If you don’t have a newsletter you can simply set up a free account with mail chimp and start collecting email data – this is a crucial marketing necessity for almost every business.

Feature 10

The TENT FLEX site is built to be as search engine friendly as possible but to make it even better for SEO on every page in the back end you can enter SEO key words and phrases. Also by updating the content regularly – and this can be adding articles, case studies  or even new testimonials – you’ll help to improve your organic search engine rankings. Google also recently announced that mobile friendly sites (and TENT FLEX is) will rank higher than none mobile friendly sites – a better reason than ever to have a responsive site.

So with all those features how can it be so cheap? Basically by creating a base structure that is branded up and adapted for each client we can dramatically reduce the cost. Also as TENT FLEX is being constantly improved our latest sites are better than ever and the older ones will be able to be updated for a small charge. TENT FLEX isn’t of course a bespoke solution – though we can offer that too – but we feel for many small businesses, TENT FLEX offers a much superior site to the usual template or dare we say, DIY solutions that are out there and for a very modest business investment.
